Geothermal Transparency Guide

We are pleased to have collaborated with Icelandic law firm BBA in publishing the international handbook Geothermal Transparency Guide.

The Guide covers 16 countries where geothermal resources are being harnessed or are available for harnessing and provides an overview of the respective legal and regulatory frameworks governing exploration, exploitation and production of electricity from geothermal energy.

Members from DLA Piper’s Canadian Energy and Environment Law Groups have contributed the chapter on Canada, addressing a range of issues including ownership, licensing, incentives, taxation and environmental impact assessment.
